Don’t get confused – the English name of Heidelberg actually translates to Blueberry Mountain in German. The actual German name is Heidelbeerenberg. The city itself sits on the banks of the River Neckar shortly before it joins up with the River Rhine.
The Romanticism movement (which may be considered a rebound reaction from the Age of Enlightenment) is said to have originated in Heidelberg and left a permanent mark on Heidelberg (now known as a romantic town.)
